Agricultural Engineering and Auto Transportation

V. Gorobets, interim Dean of the Faculty

It was founded in 1950 and represents nowadays a structure of the State Agrarian University of Moldova, being integrated in the network of technical state faculties of the Republic of Moldova it confirms its authentic availabilities of scientific and technical creation and participating actively in the insurance of the continuity and development of the modern technical higher education.

The main objectives of the faculty are:

 - Increase of efficiency and competitiveness of the teaching process and the adjustment of the educational offer to the demand of the labour market;

 - Development of scientific speciality researches in keeping with the strategies and priorities defined at national, local and European level;

 - Insurance of the administrative, material and logistic optimal background in order to accomplish adequate teaching and research-development activities.

In about 60 years, since its foundation the faculty trained more than 10,000 engineers.

The material background of the faculty corresponds to the objectives of the educational process and scientific research. Those 71 scientific and teaching laboratories, equipped with the latest modern technologies and equipment ensures the fitting of the educational process with the requirements of “The Magna Carta of European Universities” (Bologna, 1998), conventions from Bologna and Berlin concluded lately.

At the same time the faculty possesses informational and communication systems of the highest technologies (computer networks etc). The classrooms and laboratories meant to informatics disciplines are provided with computers (PC) for each working place (student).

The scientific research represents an essential preoccupation of the faculty’s teaching staff, candidates for a doctor’s degree, master degree students and students. Practical results of the scientific investigations are reflected in republican and international contracts and projects, a series of international bilateral agreements with Czech Republic, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Lithuania, Romania and a whole range of European programs with an educational character.

The major directions of investigations are: elaboration of new technologies and equipment in agricultural engineering; obtaining and use of  renewable energetic sources; bioenergetics, maintenance of agricultural equipment and auto transportation using advanced methods; improvement of agricultural technics management and amelioration of oils quality; reliability of electrical networks from the rural environment; creation of new agricultural equipment; improvement of technological processes in the agricultural sector.

3 scientific specialized councils handling with applicants defending doctor’s degree are working within the faculty in the following specialities: Agricultural mechanization, Exploitation and maintenance of the agricultural technology and of the one from the processing industry, Agricultural electrification.

At present some 1,400 students are studying at this faculty. The instruction is ensured by a qualified staff of 52 teachers, including 6 professors, doctors habilitatus and 19 associate professors, doctors in technics.
