The Department of International Relations is organized in order to facilitate the process of internationalization of the High Educational system, disseminate the image of the University on the international level and strengthen the partnership with similar institutions and organizations abroad.
The international collaboration of SAUM has known a wider development since 1976, when the first 25 foreigners, representative of 12 countries from Asia, Africa and Latin America were enrolled at the Faculty of pre-university training courses. More than 1,000 foreign nationals were trained at the faculties of SAUM.
The International Relations Department disseminates an active and permanent policy of collaboration with various Higher Education Organizations and Institutions abroad. This active collaboration offers the possibility to participate in academic mobility for students and academic staff as well professional training programs.
Developing of the international dimension at SAUM, namely: efficiency of university management, introducing courses in foreign languages, adjusting curricula to international standards, creating scientific and research laboratories, attracting international lecturers, organizing international events, and strengthening relations between SAUM and the economic environment, is due to the impact of capacity building projects with the support of the European Union programs. More than 30 projects within Tempus, Youth in Action, Erasmus Mundus, the Czech Development Agency and Erasmus + have been implemented at SAUM in recent years.
